Your Designer is Fired
From website screenshot to on-brand slides and pages, here’s how it works.
Anthropic quietly dropped Claude Design, and honestly, it’s kind of wild.
Pay attention if you’ve ever wanted to:
mock up a landing page
build a slide deck
create a branding kit
Brian walked through the whole thing in his latest video, and the big takeaway is this:
Claude Design is not just making random pretty things.
It can actually study your brand and use it to build on-brand assets fast.
Here’s what we tested:
It Reverse-Engineers Your Brand From a Screenshot
This is the part that caught us off guard.
Brian took a full-page screenshot of lawtonlearns.com, uploaded his logo and a couple of typefaces, and hit generate. Claude Design (running on Opus 4.7, Anthropic’s newest model) pulled out the colors, gradients, neutrals, button styles, spacing, and typography automatically.
The result is a full design system you can reuse across every project. You can open each section, review it, flag anything that looks off, and share it with your team.
One upload. Full brand kit. Done.
He Built a Slide Deck Without Touching PowerPoint
Brian uploaded a PDF prompt guide and told Claude Design to turn it into a presentation. It asked a series of questions about audience and structure, then built the entire deck using his design system.
The slides looked like his website. Same colors, same logo, same button styles. To edit, you just leave a comment like, “make this background black,” and it updates on the spot.
When finished, you can export to PowerPoint or present right from the browser.
Fair warning: the “draw” and “voice” features on slides are buggy right now. Brian crashed the whole presentation testing the voice button. It’s still in Research Preview afterall.
Then He Built a Landing Page in Minutes
Brian’s been working on a TikTok video generator app. He needed a landing page for it but didn’t have one.
He dropped two screenshots of the app into Claude Design, wrote a single line: “I need a landing page to promote my new video generation application.”
What came back looked like a real site. Hero section, feature blocks, consistent branding. All he had to do was drop in some actual video content.
The best part: when you’re ready to ship, you can export the code as a zip or hand it off to Claude Code directly from the terminal.
Should You Try It?
If you create marketing assets, interactive prototypes, slide decks, landing pages, etc (with any regularity)… Yes.
The design system alone saves hours. Build it once, and every future project automatically matches your brand.
It’s free right now while it’s in research preview so Claude limits your total weekly generations.
Go to claude.ai/design and start with the design system. That’s where the real leverage is.
